Pukeko Preschool offers a unique opportunity for children to experience a quality early childhood education in an idyllic rural setting.
We are a community-led, licensed Early Childhood Centre. Nestled in the grounds of Tauwhare Primary School, our small preschool with a big heart provides a solid start to your child's education.
We are dedicated to providing a variety of stimulating, challenging and exciting play experiences and activities in a well-resourced preschool which supports your child in developing to their full potential
Our New Building
The Trust Board is making progress on planning our new building. We are hoping to break ground this year.
Transition
At Pukeko Preschool we recognize the importance of making this transition as smooth as possible. We want your child to leave preschool as a confident learner, with the skills and attitudes in place to succeed in this next stage of their lives. From your child's first day at preschool they will be watching the older children on the field, visiting the school and getting to meet the school teachers. We also invite all our parents to take their 4 year old to the 'Step in' program at the school.
Sustainabilty
Through promoting sustainable conservation practices, our children are encouraged to actively care and have respect for our environment.
Children are involved in growing food and it is a great way to encourage healthy eating and sustainability as we enjoy using the produce in our cooking.
We also compost our food scraps in our worm farm.
We encourage all our families to use recyclable packaging in their child's lunchboxes.
